Our first canary coloured 'hair' diamond was made a few years ago, from 35-40 grams of beard trimmings. It took some time to collect the amount estimated to be needed and we weren't sure of the size of diamond we could attain. The carbon was extracted, the raw diamond crystal created and the eventual size was 0.85carat cut with 58 facets - termed Brilliant Cut (round) 6.25mm.
Hair gives us a few options. Diamonds made from a living person or two or three people. Diamonds made from a living relative and from the parents for their children. Using hair, we could make a diamond from any hairy pet - cat, dog, horse or rabbit etc.
Civil Partnership Diamond Twins. Using approximately 35-40 grams of hair from each partner, we can mix the hair and process it as usual. The extracted carbon is then used to make one large canary coloured crystal from which two identical 0.75 carat diamonds can be cut. These would be molecularly identical, a true bonding in the closest possible way.
Living Partner Diamonds. The largest single diamond we can currently make, is approximately 2.00 carat. Being large, it may have very slight inclusions and it may be very slightly deeper in colour than the usual canary yellow. For such a large diamond, we need about 75-100 grams of hair. The smallest diamonds we cut are 0.25 carat but this size is only economically viable supplying three or more diamonds. The next small size is .33 (1/3rd) carat made in a pair. The smallest single canary we supply is 1/2 (0.5) carat, we than make diamonds in any weight up to 2.00 carat.
Pet Diamonds. Your beloved pet may mean a lot to you and your family, but it is a fact of life and death that these animals do not live as long as we do and their demise is a very sad loss. Whilst your pet is still alive it is possible to cut a sufficient amount of hair off to offer for processing in the above ways. Work with your groomer or vet, collect about 25-30 grams of clean hair/fur and call us to arrange delivery details.
