Are the diamonds real?.........
Celebration Diamonds are genuine diamonds, having the exact same properties of natural mined diamonds but are termed 'created diamonds' or laboratory grown diamonds. They are extremely difficult to tell from their natural counterparts without using very expensive and technical equipment.
Celebration Diamonds are not imitations like CZ (Cubic Zirconium) or Moissanite (Silicon Carbide), they are not 'DNA Diamonds' nor are they like any of the other synthetics available. The raw diamond crystals have not been interfered with or irradiated in any way to change their colour.
If required, the diamond can be certified by AnchorCert or by the GIA.
How do you make real diamonds?
Fantastic as it may seem, the process used [HPHT] emulates the formation of natural diamonds by the earth - immense pressure and fantastic heat over millions of years, but in our laboratory the extremely scientific and elaborate process has been shortened to a few months.
All diamonds (natural and ours) are basically carbon. It has been possible to make real diamonds since the 1950's. The special process grows a unique raw diamond crystal made using extracted carbon from hair or the umbilical cord. The raw diamond crystal is then cut and polished just like mined ones have been centuries.
How do I know you have used my/our donation?
You really do have to trust us!!! We realize your concern, but we feel compassionate and privileged to be able to provide you with an everlasting and valuable memento.
Orders are uniquely identified throughout the whole process - from the original order form, to collection, processing, manufacturing, cutting & polishing to final delivery.
What colours can be made?
The usual outcome when using human or animal material is canary yellow, but it is possible to make diamonds in shades of blue and even red and green. Pink and White(clear) diamonds still elude us - for the present!!!!.........
Natural diamonds in these colours are called 'fancies' and can costs many thousands of dollars per carat – sometimes many times more than white (clear) diamonds which we are all more familiar with. The natural yellow hue does nothing to stop the fire and the scintillation of rainbow colours sparkling through.
Are the the diamond flawless?
The honest answer is “Not totally”. We aim for VS1 or better. Just as in nature, many diamonds have tiny flaws and what are termed inclusions. The material you donate is as unique as the resultant diamond. We do not know the outcome until the raw crystal is complete, but we have many years of experience and we now have consistent results.
The raw diamond can have various shades and flecks of carbon just as they are found in nature, but the very experienced cutter avoids any such inclusions and flaws as much as possible to obtain the size of finished diamond requested. The highly polished 'brilliant cut' diamond will have the best flashes of fire and the rainbow colours.
What are molecularly identical 'Twin Gems' or 'Gem Twins'?
These are two diamonds made from a mixed source of hair from which carbon has been extracted and a raw diamond made, this is then cut into two Brilliant Cut diamonds.
What is the Jessica Diamond?
We were the first company in the world to make a 0.5 carat aqua blue diamond from a premature baby's umbilical cord – the Jessica Diamond. Jessica had a delivery weight of just 4lbs 11ozs. She is now a healthy growing baby (see our blog)
What sizes and cuts are available?
The size of the resultant diamond depends on the amount of material being used. Hair diamonds depend on the weight being collected. Umbilical cord diamonds need careful calculations and we can advise on what size is attainable.
In our opinion, the round 'Brilliant' cut is the very best sparkler. It has 58 facets with dimensions which have evolved over the years and more so with computer aided design. This cut allows a full return of the light to scintillate all the colours of the rainbow. We may be able offer 'Princess' or 'Radiant' cut if the shape of the raw crystal allows but usually the colour is slightly deeper.
How much does it cost?
Our prices are in a viewable section, but please read on - then hover the cursor to view..
Over the years we have tried to be as competitive and as reasonable as possible. We have made all sizes from 0.25 to 2.0 carat in various quantities and various cuts. The processing is extremely complex and very specialist intensive. It costs almost as much to pre-process a fractional diamond as it does a large one - so our costs are calculated more frequently and do need confirming at the time of order.
It is uneconomical to supply a single canary diamond smaller than 0.5 crt, however a group of smaller diamonds are economical when made in three's and pairs.
Blue diamonds may be supplied as single stones as small as 0.25 crt but below that it is likely to be a pointless exercise as a Celebration diamond.
We realise this is an important decision not taken lightly, but if your funds are limited, choose a size to match your budget. However with this being such a unique opportunity to celebrate, go for the biggest size you can afford. We recommend - 'brilliant' cut canary at 0.75carats or perhaps four 0.25 carats in a ring.
How long does it take?
From order to delivery, can take around 13-16 weeks, plus the 14 day 'cooling off'. We cannot state exactly how long as processes are complex and difficult to determine.
What kind of payment terms do you offer?
We do not deal in cash. We prefer payment of both the deposit and final payment by cheque, bankers draft or transfer (all of which must 'clear' before beginning the process and final delivery). Credit cards are fraught with problems for us, however Credit Card Cheques are acceptable and of course you can use your credit card to gain the funds.
We may also offer intermediary or Escrow facilities who can hold both deposit and final payment before delivery and we may be able to offer finance if really required.
What do you need from me?
We need approx' 25-30 grams of hair for the canary diamonds or 100 grams of hair for blue diamonds. Hair should be clean and all should be sent sealed in a zip type poly bag. The order form must be signed and sent along with the deposit payment.
The umbilical cord diamonds obviously need the cord (but not the placenta) which on baby delivery needs to be immediately deep-frozen and arranged for courier collection.
How do I order?
Send us an e-mail or telephone us to say you are wishing to order. As this is likely to be an important purchase for you, we will gladly discuss arrangements directly with you to collect the material you wish to be made into a diamond, or we can write to you to give you all the details if meeting you is impracticable.
There is no rush, no sales pressure from us. We would be delighted to assist you with filling in forms, dealing with donated material and payment. Wherever possible we can arrange for a personal service, to meet you, show you examples and arrange for the collection of all that is required.
Can I cancel?
Although not required by law, we offer a 14 day cooling off period, after which we sincerely ask you to consider the implications of cancelling, for once your order has been partially processed or started, the costs and charges will be mounting daily. Some of the process is simply too difficult to stop, cancellation charges will depend on the work already carried out. We really do not wish to be left with a diamond which we would find morally difficult to sell simply to recover costs.
Our sales and the supply is subject to mutual 'Terms & Conditions' detailed on the order form. They are in simple plain English.
We are sure you will not require hair back but if the cord has been partially processed - returns may be impracticable (if not impossible) - so think hard before you commit yourself.
Can you make diamonds from a pet?
We can make real diamonds from any carbon source. Our initial product was in fact making diamonds from 'cremains' only, but now we use hair [human, dog, cat, horse, etc] and from horn, hoof and nails.
Why are your diamonds both dearer and less expensive than ones I have read about?
On TV shopping channels and in adverts, you may see Diamondette, Diamondique, DiamondAura, Moissanite, etc: If the description is not pure or real diamond they are not the same as our real and genuine diamonds. If a (so-called) 'Diamond' of one carat is offered at just a few hundred pounds, it is probably not a real diamond.
DNA-Diamonds?? - if DNA is totally destroyed at 300c and lab' diamonds are made at 1300c, we do not know how this is possible. Similarly, diamonds made from a single strand of hair would be impossible for us to make.
Drilling a diamond or sandwiching to insert a hair strand is not the same as our real diamonds.
Our canary diamonds are less expensive than the blue we supply because one process is well tried and tested and relatively easy for us to replicate consistently. Blue diamonds and particularly Pink are horrendously difficult to make – as are white (clear) diamonds.
Can we have the off-cuts from our own diamond crystal?
We are unable to supply raw or bits of raw diamond as these are usually useless chips or simply diamond dust mixed with cutting an coolant fluids.
Can we come and see the process?
We are very sorry to refuse any request to view plant and production - for all kinds of reasons (security, logistics, time, location, health & safety, insurance etc).
Can I read more about your developments??
We have a regular 'blog' in which we report on more developments from time to time.
Please feel free to call us, we welcome your questions (which for security and secrecy we may or may not be able to answer).
